1/3/2024 0 Comments Crowntakers archetypesI guess it's just not my style.ĭon't get me wrong, I really like the game the music, the atmosphere, the flavor text, all good stuff. Maybe it's just not a game for me, I don't know. I started a new game after killing the duke, but now I still have to pick up a new mercenary one area at a time, so there's little benefit to me in the early game (other than picking a newly-unlocked mercenary or archetype). It'll get easier with experience, and especially having a 5th party member, but there simply isn't enough variation. I "beat" the "last boss" without even having a full party, and it was stressful the whole time. If the core doesn't change, that's bound to get tedious pretty quickly. You basically just have to do the same thing over and over and over and over again, with little variation.Ĭharacters, archetypes, items, quests, locations. So, in short, the answer to my question is "no". If you decide to buy the dlc you have a new merc and the new necropolis area that you have to pass trough with diferent characters each run to unlock their special items and after that you will get a special event after unlocking every character special necropolis quest. And you need to find them in order to get some of the rare achievements.Īfter unlocking every character and archetype te only thing to do is simply playing to find the special locations and the special characters to get the achievements. The base game also has some special characters that you can find while exploring the various areas. but on the plus side it has few rpg events where you have many options. The major complain that I have about the new area is that id full of event s unlike the usual areas but most of the times you cant get diferent outcomes because it is right after zone 2 so by that point you usually dont have rare stuff or anything like that and that is mostly required that zone to acess diferent outcomes. If you want some extra areas you can only get on the dlc and the dlc just adds one new area and a special cheat area where you can get max stuff but you have to beat all the bosses of the game at the same time. Unlocking archetypes as you should probably now usuaslly takes a couple runs to complete the second archetype(30 kills) and the third is usually relatively easy to unlock it is way easier on easy mode since you arry over exp from the previous runs and most of them are just stat requirements. There is also 4 legendary locations and some minor quests that appear once in awhile. You can only unlock a couple of merc per run and there is a total of 9 mercs, 10 if you have the dlc.
